24 crazy hours part 2

Later on, there was a farewell party for Prior at Flick's apartment in the city. It was quite an amazing scene, on the roof with a fire and everything.

Photobucket

Prior was loving it. He's off to Canada on Tuesday for who knows how long.

Duel mobiling

Photobucket

Flick and her housemates had provided an array of snacks, including home made cupcakes and 'Flix', her namesake crisp in a Tomato sauce and mayonnaise flavour, which smell and taste exactly like cheeseburgers from McDonalds.

Photobucket

The fire department showed up and politely enquired why we thought it was a good idea to light a fire on the roof.

Photobucket

Fair enough, I guess. They were nice about it.

Photobucket

Two fire trucks showed up!

Photobucket

So we took the party downstairs

Alice and Raynee

This is where I was holding court, playing creative writing games etc. Can't remember Dale's friend's name, but he was a good sort. Then there's Dale himself and gracious hostess Flick.

Photobucket

Callum was a vibrant part of the evening, but took a short break at one point on the restful chair

Photobucket

The well behaved man of the hour, Prior took his leave relatively early. Goodbye and good luck, my friend!

Photobucket

It was a hug fest for a minute there.

Photobucket

Tom taking a well-deserved shift in the restful chair.

Photobucket

Callum's T-rex like frame took out a non-restful chair.

Photobucket

Hometime. Quite a late one. I was up for about 24 hours! Worth every second. I went skating the next day too.

24 crazy hours part 1

Up at the crack of dawn on Friday to assist Scottie again on a photo shoot:

Photobucket

We only needed two shots. This was the first:

Photobucket

And this was the second. If we had my way, we would have been done by 7am. But I am a huge fan of Scottie as a model, and bad digital photography. The suits at the GPO disagree.

Photobucket

There was a spaceship there

Photobucket

Actually, it was a big light which we call 'big socky'. There it is, with socky. The trick is they make it look like daytime, and famous.

Photobucket

The model Olivia was cool.

Shot 2

Photobucket

Too many cooks in the kitchen. I said to Trevor Salmon, they're making paella when they only need risotto. He knew what I meant and we had a good chuckle.

Photobucket

Scottie, nailing it.

Photobucket

Packing up big socky.

Photobucket

It was a productive morning. But there was more to come.

The many faces of Mr. Winkle

Mr. Winkle has been the source of much hilarity of late.

Thobias to a fault

Last week, Chris launched the first book by his and Tom's OWN books. It's called 581c and it's by a Swedish photographer named Thobias Faldt (one of those a's has a double dot thing over it) and it's rather good.

Photobucket

The photos are all taken at night, with people, creatures or strange things emerging from the inky blackness.

Photobucket

So on Saturday night when we went to a party at Rooper and Rosie's place, Faldt's work was having its way with me. I took this one during a brief 'Pat Cash' excursion, as Sam would put it.

Photobucket

Beautiful tree in the backyard. I'm looking forward to having a backyard again soon.

En route to another party

Georgia and some men.

The second party was a bit extreme for our liking, but we did get down briefly to a bit of the Dead Prez.

Office politics

We had a big work get together on Friday, with all the editors from the other states flying in and such. This is the great Penny Modra, PM, editor in chief and partner in crime.

Photobucket

Robbie Coleman and the other Max. Fancy that, another Max!

Photobucket

The lovely (and usually very camera shy) Lisa and bossman Barrie.

Photobucket

Penny and Chris. I could say the other Penny and the other Barton, but that would be doing them a great disservice.

Photobucket

Why did we go to the Tote? I'm not quite sure, but I am sure about their coffin shaped tables. That's Danielle from Perth there in the blue.

Photobucket

Frunch! And a partially obscured Alice.

Photobucket

Max and Nadia

Photobucket

I know Craig from ages ago. He wore this tracksuit.

Photobucket

The wonderful Kashi Mai was also visiting from Sydney. I can't quite remember what this pose was, something to do with anonymity?
