Sale and Scottie and so on

I'm watching a documentary about why a walrus has a penis bone.

Scottie very kindly helped me out by shooting some photos of my new jeans last week. It was nice to inhabit his playful world and see some of his new tricks.

Scottie's new studio is fantastic - like something off the set of Mad Men.

Photobucket

Tom was the talent. The photos turned out great, as you can see below. See more at the Note to Self site, and while you're there, peruse the Scottie jeans on the web store.

We work hard, we play hard. Here we are en route to another bar after several 'Polish Nutters' at the Union.

Photobucket

The next day, we got the band back together and Scottie came skating.

Photobucket

As did Sam!

Photobucket

Not sure when this will happen again, though. It was fun while it lasted!

Photobucket

I had a one day jeans shop at 99 Problems on Saturday. It was a roaring success and lots of fun.

Photobucket

I was fortunate enough to secure the services of Ms Rosie Scott, an expert in customer service and counting cash. Here she is putting the hard sell on Jenny.

Photobucket

Milo was having a go on his ipod touch.

Photobucket

Bonnie burst onto the scene and made quite an impression during her short appearance. Always a pleasure!

Photobucket

Jason debuted his zine of photos from a cat show as an added bonus feature of the shop.

Photobucket

Thanks so much to Dion and Dan for manning the bar and letting me set up shop for the day! Thanks also to everyone for coming.

Photobucket

Last night, Jay celebrated his bday and bid us a fond farewell, as he is off to Siberia. Once again, we were back at the Union. No Polish Nutters to speak of, but you know.

Photobucket

This photo of Conor is the last image captured of my beloved cruiser board, before it was nicked from outside the Gasometer late last night. I wish the culprit bad luck!

New jeans

I got a new run of jeans made! You'll have to wait for the professional Scottie photos of them, but here are a few I took.

Photobucket

So they come in black and blue - very imaginative! Both made from the same Japanese 2% stretch denim from Kaihara mill. It is lovely soft denim that really does improve with age. They're made in Melbourne. Blackies:

Photobucket

They're similar to the Andrew jean from a couple of moons ago, but slightly more relaxed. Much like Andrew himself. Blueies:

Photobucket

They're extremely simple and I like them a lot. The black ones have a black button fly, and the blue ones have a silver button fly - how do I come up with these ideas?

Photobucket

They'll be available to buy very, very soon. If you're desperate, drop me a line. Otherwise, hang tight for the launch of my online store and a special event next weekend! Chainstitch hem detail:

On a different note, Joey jetted off to stay in gay Paris for a couple of months. Bon voyage Joey!

Diggers pants

I've been working with Trent at Pass Port designing a new line of affordable, practical clothing called Diggers. The first run of pants have just arrived and they are really nice!

Photobucket

They're made from a 2% stretch heavy twill cotton, in a nice slim cut very similar to the last lot of pants we did. Soft but tough!

Photobucket

The grey ones are a slightly looser fit.

Photobucket

Inside detail of fancy felled seams. You can buy them from stores around town and also here for one cent less than $100. By the way, new Note to Self stretch jeans will be ready next week!

Going to Gooram

The plan was to drive to Anna's mum's place in the country after work on Friday. Unfortunately, a few km's down the road from our house, the beetle let out a big burp, then stopped. Three hours later, we got towed home to bed.

Photobucket

Luckily, Rosie's boss Pete offered us the use of his Mercedes for the weekend! So we took him up on the offer. Then we were there, hanging out with Anna and Charlie!

Photobucket

Gooram is in the Strathbogie Ranges, a very pretty part of the world. In between various film screenings and meals, we took walks around the property.

Photobucket

We came across this kid, who had lost its mum.

Photobucket

Wasn't too fazed by Tess.

Photobucket

I suppose she's not that scary, really.

Photobucket

Charlie digesting another album. Like father, like son. Ben was in Sydney at a drinking, I mean music conference, by the way.

Crazy boulders everywhere

Photobucket

There was an eagle circling us, eyeing off Tess. We took turns carrying her, much to her chagrin.

Photobucket

The eagle disappeared after a while, so Tess had a run around at the top of the hill. It's lovely up there.

It was a great weekend away. On a different note, Kate is off to study in Canada. I dropped in on her farewell fire pit. Happy travels Kate!
