Summer night

It's been too hot. Mosquitoes bite my fingers at night and I hear strange noises outside that aren't really there. The days have been spent doing things quietly, writing and stopping and sucking on iceblocks. I went to an opening at Bret's gallery. It looked nice, but not many people had shown up because it was so hot.

Bret had his mind on other things, anyway. He cuts his own hair, in case you're wondering.

The Utopian Slumps opening down the road was more well attended, by the usual suspects. It was quite an impressive installation, complete with a floating bathtub periscope (shown here operated by the amazing Al), leading onto a wooden iceberg. I was hoping for an ice one, but this was interesting.

Looking forward to Tom's show there in March. He's quite the character.

I don't know what to say about Chris' shorts, but they were amazing!

We ended up at the fountain, where Marcelle regaled us with tales of Kanten Russell and him egging on Josh Kasper to skate down the stairs of random house switch doing a benihana on an ironing board. Amazing.

Jason was happy

We all ate mexican pizzas

I like Erin's shirt. She rode a BMX for the first time in years, which Chris hurt himself trying to wheelie on. Harder than it looks!

I like the pads on BMX's. But it's the ground you have to worry about.

Best spot in Melbourne.
